The Temple of Anag'roth
The most important mission the worshippers of Anag’roth, is that of the Dula. Their job is to deliver life and carry death. They must help the birthing mothers and deliver the child safely. They must prepare the mothers and wash the newborn. They must also care for the dying, give them the last wash and carry the torch to the pyre. They must do the death watch within the first 24h of the death taking place.
The temples double as nurseries, hospitals, and hospices. The doors are open for all, no matter what. The praying shrines are decorated with fresh flowers, prayer notes, skulls, and candles. The attending Dulas light incense for purity, cleansing, and safe passing.
The atmosphere is filled with joyous laughter, babies’ first crying, grieving families, and quiet prayer.
