My eyes started to flutter open. It was dark, my vision blurry. A figure stood before me across this small space, their cloak appearing black. I tried to bring my hands to my face to wipe away the grogginess from my eyes but my hands didn't obey. Lolling my head towards my arms, I saw they were tied behind me as I sat upright in a wooden chair. I was gripped by a sudden realization: I couldn't feel my body. Her humming came to my ears then, as did the whispers that encompassed the room.
