Deserts of Egypt
I designed this as sort of a background for a fantasy series I'm doing which has a lot of fantasy elements with a more modern twist.
The desert stretches for miles, with only some reddish cliffs and the occasional ruins of past civilizations to dot the landscape; maybe, if you're lucky, a few palm trees in a place where water has somehow managed to gather. But you'd better keep your eyes open; there may be all manner of snakes and scorpions here. Or worse, you may chance upon a sphinx; she may be kind and look upon you like some sort of adorable little being to amuse her, or she may seek to devour you if you cannot answer her elusive riddle....
