Desert between realms
First and most jarring was the intense and musty smell. Like burnt hair and metal. The air that hits your upper body feels cold, the air closer to the ground hot. Everything both looks and feels as if it is constantly shifting. The landscape around you gets made and unmade before your very eyes. Like heaps of sand in an hour glass rising up until they just as quick fall into nothingness. This shifting expanse stretches on for miles. Through intermittent flashes of lightning you can see thick a curtain of dark clouds touching the horizon. The rumble of distant thunder echoes softly breaking the unearthly silence of this place.
