Ancient Temple of the Gods
It's been a long, weary trek, and you still have quite a ways ahead of you. Nighttime is drawing near, and though you loathe to stop, you know you must. But where? Sleeping in the open isn't a good option, and the forests, filled with wild creatures and who knows what else, isn't safe either.
Just as you begin to collapse from exhaustion, you see it. The temple built into the side of the mountain. Its grand, and surely ancient....and abandoned. Lacking a better option, you veer for it.
You were right, the temple truly is abandoned. By your guess, no one has set foot in here for centuries. The gods depicted in murals on the walls aren't ones you recognize, not from any text... Who were they, you wonder? And what happened to them?
After sending a prayer to the unknown gods on the walls, you settle down for the night. As you fall asleep, the wind whistling through the temple almost sounds like an ancient hymn. You pray these gods won't take issue with your presence...
